MuppetToons was a series of digital shorts created for the now closed MuppetWorld.com website. The episodes used the Henson Digital Performance Studio to bring Jim Henson's classic Muppet characters to life. The shorts were created by the Jim Henson Company in association with Pulse Entertainment. The series launched onto the web circa-2001.

MuppetToons[]

  • Welcome: Kermit the Frog and Fozzie Bear welcome visitors to the website.
  • The Kermambo: Rizzo the Rat makes Kermit perform a song and dance every time a Internet user requests it.
  • The Stream: Dr. Bunsen Honeydew attempts to teleport his assistant Beaker to Paris; however he teleportation malfunctions as a result of the then-topical "Michelangelo" computer virus.
  • Net Congestion: Fozzie Bear makes his world wide web comedy debut. Unfortunately, Statler and Waldorf use streaming audio to heckle his performace. All seems lost until Statler and Waldorf's exposure to the streaming audio gives them a case of net congestion. Fozzie has a chance to finish his routine, until the two old geezers sneeze him off the stage.

MuppetFest[]

A live demonstartion of the HDPS system used to create the MuppetToons was held at the 2001 MuppetFest convention. Steve Whitmire and Dave Goelz showcased the power of the Henson Digital Performance controls with a live performance of the Kermit the Frog and The Great Gonzo digital puppets.
